Maps weaving an interesting story in understanding the hydro-geomorphology of the Anthropocene:
A case study of the Damodar River, India.

Human beings through millennia have impacted the fluvial environment directly through engineering projects and indirectly through changing land use and landscape, a dynamic that has led to the suggestion that the current geological epoch be renamed "Anthropocene" in place of "Holocene". The story map depicts that the controlled Lower Damodar is a product of twin processes: quasi-natural hydro-geomorphic processes on the one hand and dynamics of the Anthropocene on the other.
